THE NUMBERS, EXPLAINED.
Data comes from the NHL’s public game log and team schedule. Stats refresh when you visit and every five minutes while this page is open. Source publication can lag a game; this is a season tracker, not live play-by-play.
Projection = points already earned + current points per appearance × remaining Edmonton regular-season games. Assumes McDavid plays every remaining team game. The 80-game equivalent helps compare his scoring rate to Gretzky’s 1985–86 season. Early-season pace can change dramatically.

Chasing 216 is an independent hockey tracker built by Unknown Roads. We build experimental websites, games, simulators and useful software. This experiment follows one question: can McDavid put together a record-breaking season?
The tracker is free to use. Optional Ko-fi support helps fund this project and future experiments. Supporting the project does not buy ownership or a licence to its source code.

PRIVACY & SUPPORT
This tracker does not create its own visitor profiles, run its own analytics or collect payment details. Your browser can store a recent public stats snapshot to show when a refresh fails. Hosting and sign-in providers may process technical and access information. Fonts load from Google and the player photograph loads from the NHL. Ko-fi and its payment providers handle support payments under their own policies.
